Abstract

Solid state batteries are much safer than the existing lithium-ion batteries due to solid electrolyte, light weight, reliable, recyclable and safe. Because of the highly reactive organic solvent which has a high risk of boiling, freezing or burning in existing batteries,, will be replace by solid state batteries which has very long life validity in very near future. The sulphide solid electrolyte which has very high ionic conductivity can substantially decrease the internal resistance which largely affects the characteristics of charging and discharging of a battery. In this paper we studied the advantages of solid state batteries which uses solid electrolyte (oxide and sulphide) over the existing lithium-ion batteries which uses liquid electrolyte (LiPF6, etc.).
