Floating Tracking Cooling Concentrator (FTCC) System - An Introduction

Dheeraj Joshi, Simmi Sharma

Abstract

In country like India, achieving energy security through sustainable technologies is the most challenging objective that needs to be fulfilled. Though Nuclear energy is expected to meet a part of India's energy demand by 2030 but its an unsafe way of producing power as was seen in Japan’s nuclear plant. Solar energy is one of the best alternatives that can provide power requirements. Floating tracking cooling concentrator (FTCC) Systems are used to harness solar energy keeping in view the availability of 70% water on earth, decreasing land area due to increasing population, the efficiency degradation due to thermal drifts. This paper explains FTCC system and their role in widening the solar energy domains.
