Abstract

In our proposal, a dual-purpose derailment and train carriage detachment detecting system is introduced. In the modern era, it is crucial to design a suitable system with the aid of technology that can assist us in managing significant issues like rail accidents. To extract and method the information from the sensors in our project, we use Node-MCU. Regarding the situation in India, a sizeable portion of the population uses trains as a form of transportation, which causes tones of traffic on the rail tracks. In India, this is the main contributing factor to train accidents. Track failures, equipment breakdowns, and fast train speeds are the immediate causes of accidents. We aim to develop a system based on IoT and various sensors to improve the state of railways so that it may stop numerous tragic accidents considering this scenario. If a detachment or derailment is likely to occur, it is detected, and the information is relayed to the loco-pilot and the closest railway station. Hence, the servomotor and brakes aid in preventing collision by enabling them to take prompt corrective action.
