Abstract

ABSTRACT Substandard bandwidth execution is a normal for microstrip patch antennas and bandwidth improvement is a most critical test when designing patch radiators. Small size wideband microstrip patch antenna with different method of design such as slot load patches of different location, size and shape, multiple patches, fractal structures, EBG structures that shows the variation of resonant frequencies, higher percentage of Bandwidth, provide desired alignment of radiation with mathematical equation of Bandwidth percentage and number of iteration and genetic algorithm is discussed which has a optimization technique to find the best possible location where antenna is perfectly matched and also find the best solution of array design as location of side lobe levels and nulls position that make them suitable for different modern application. The radiation pattern has acceptable response at both E-plane and H-plane.

Keywords: Patch antenna, bandwidth, genetic algorithm, radiation pattern, EBG structure
