Ashish Upadhyay, Bimal Garg

Abstract

ABSTRACT
In this study, a dual substrate shorted microstrip patch antenna is designed for RF Energy Harvesting Application. The proposed antenna covers signals between 2200-2300 MHz frequencies, area of the proposed antenna is compact. The proposed dual substrate patch antenna is loaded on FR-4 lossy substrate with thickness of 1.6 mm. The defected ground structure with square slots and increasing the height of the substrate are used for increasing the bandwidth of the proposed dual substrate microstrip patch antenna and radio frequency harvesting applications. The proposed antenna receives Radio frequency signals merely from all the directions for energy harvesting application. The efficiency of proposed antenna is 62% at 2.25 GHz frequency. In this study, reflection coefficient and gain plot is presents.

Keywords: Shorted microstrip patch, defected ground structure (DGS), radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting, direct current
