Design and Verification of High Performance AMBA AHB to APB

Abstract


The AMBA AHB to APB Bridge provides an interface between the Advanced High-performance Bus (AHB) and the Advanced Peripheral Bus (APB) with change in bus width which support 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024 bits configurable design with compiler directive. We design AHB slave, APB controller and APB interface. It allows inserting the wait state with the burst transfer for read and writing operation. The AHB transactions are converted into APB transactions. To validate this, we design a Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) testbench. This demonstrates a technique that allows a single UVM testbench to adapt to design configuration changes that would otherwise require significant manual effort.
