Abstract

ABSTRACT
The patch antenna is one of the most important and usually type of RF antenna. It is widely used on its own, and it is also incorporated into lots of different RF antenna layout where it forms the driven elements for the antenna. In this paper, an attempt has been made to analyse a proposed broad band and high band width microstrip patch antenna for WLAN applications. The proposed antenna design is easy to fabricate incorporate with DGS techniques. Their cost is also low. The antenna is designed at εr = 4.4, height h = 1.6 mm for operation frequency band of 2.3 and 2.8 GHz. The antenna has shown -53 dB and -43 dB return loss at operating frequency of 2.3 and 2.8 GHz with high band width of (1.8972, -9.9516 and 3.4071,-9.9872); it confirmed that the simulated and measured results are agree with each other.
