Priyanka Kulhari, Ravi Kumar Soni

Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper describes the energy savings in large electric drives by using implementation of “Slip Power Recovery Scheme”. The primary intention of this paper is to furnish direction for selecting and employ electric drives supported on energy efficiency and life-cycle cost. Slip power recovery wound rotor induction motor drives are used in high power, limited speed compass applications where control condition of slip power gives the variable speed drive system. In this paper, the steady state demonstration analysis of formal slip energy recovery system using static line commutated inverter inside the rotor circuit is supplied. The paper, primary importance is given to three-phase and single-phase induction motors since this is the range offering supreme possibility for energy savings. Computer simulation of the strategy is carried out exploitation in Matlab environment and experimental set-up is prepared for a 2-hp wound rotor induction motor. Microcontroller approach is used for the generation of firing pulses for the inverter bridge. The simulation and experimental effects are analyzed.
