Abstract

Power and water resources are not sufficient in the current situation to meet the needs of the farmer, because they are not efficient at juggling several demands, such as the availability of water, energy sources, and timely soil profile monitoring. Traditionally used irrigation systems are proving to be less ineffective. We created a system to monitor the condition of soil using sensors connected to Node MCU, taking advantage of this advancement in the age of a contaminated environment and evaporating agriculture. The major objective is to employ a moisture sensor circuit to continuously check the soil's moisture level, both in wet and dry situations. For Indian farmers, the most effective approach is smart irrigation systems driven by solar energy. In this system, the water pump is solar-powered, and the water flow is automatically controlled by a moisture sensor and relay module. It is the recommended solution to the nation's farmers' present energy problems. Both water and electricity are conserved by this method, which uses less grid power and reduces water losses. It can also work well on lawns, parks, and agricultural settings. The NodeMCU microcontroller, which manages the Wi-Fi module, utilises the solar panel's electricity to power the motors that irrigate the field by detecting how moist the soil is. Any water that is over the prescribed level is pumped out using information from the level sensor. IoT and other technical innovations are highly sought after across several businesses. In order to successfully regulate irrigation, the farmer may easily access this technology from anywhere in the globe.
