Arduino Microcontroller-based Gas Leakage Detection and Accident Prevention Alerting System

Pratiksha Akotkar, Sushil Bakhtar

Abstract

This paper aims to propose and discuss a design of a gas leakage detection system that can automatically sense, an alert signal generated and control gas leakage by a user. This proposed system also includes an alerting by buzzer sound and the users control gas leakage. The system is based on a sensor that easily senses a gas leakage. The liquid petroleum gas (LPG) leak detector model is a compact electronic device immediate which detects the presence of LPG in the air. Gas leak detection is the sense of gas leakage with a sensor specially designed to identify the leaks. To detect gas leaks with traditional methods, the gas itself must either be in close proximity to the detector or within a pre-defined location. Gas is deliberately perfumed so that the average person can perceive it at a concentration well below the explosive range. That smell concentration is generally between 0.5 to 1.0 percent by volume or as local applicable codes dicta immediate smell is a common and effective indication of a leak. A report of gas odor should be examined immediately. If a leak is found, the vagrant pattern of the gas should be determined. If an immediate spillage is determined to exist, the surety, and potential should be eliminated and the leak repaired immediately. The smell is not always totally reliable as an indicator of the presence of gas leaks. LPG gas sensing projects' main idea is to implement a security system for detecting leakage of gas in a closed environment. In this project, gas leakage is detected by using sensors that work only in a closed environment. In the present condition, there are many cases related to gas leakage which causes innocent people's lives and property damage. Implementing this application can be useful for industry, household areas, and public places which can save the lives of people. This energy source is primarily composed of isobutane and butane which are highly burnable chemical compounds. These gases can catch fire easily. In addition, there was a need to automate the home so that users can take advantage of the technology and this project aims to develop the security of the home against intruders, gas leaks, and fire.
