Design and development of Economical Mobile signal jammer

Mehaboob Mujawar

Abstract

With mobile telephony reaching many people's budget, cell phones work for a wider user
base. Mobile technology is a technology type that is used primarily in cellular
communication and other related aspects. The broad use of cell phones may cause some
problems such as irritating ringing sound or vibration that is not appreciated in some areas.
One of many possibilities to disrupt these mobiles are by installing certain devices which
make mobile phones obsolete. While different cellular systems produce different frequency
range signals, all mobile phone networks use radio spectrum frequencies. And so, these
signals can be blocked using different jamming techniques. This project discusses the design
and implementation of a basic jammer for mobile phones. A cell phone jammer circuitry aims
at producing signals of the same frequency as the mobile signal and disrupting connection
between base station and mobile phone. Thus, avoiding transmission or reception of radio
signals by the mobile phone. The military first created and used the communication jammers
for spoofing and various other applications. Spoofing is the method of concealing a
communication from an anonymous source as being from a genuine known source. Since cell
phone jammers interrupt contact and disrupt the operation of authentic mobile phone
networks, in many jurisdictions the use of such devices is not accepted and is illegal. There is
a risk that when operational, these jammers can also block access to various emergency
services which is undesirable. Hence the authority must have a license to use the system
legally and make sure it doesn’t interfere in the working of other essential organisations in
any manner. Some countries have regulations that their telecommunications authorities
federate as to where and when a jammer for mobile phones should be used. Irresponsible use
of jammer cell phone will play havoc with the coverage map of a cell phone carrier.
