Mehul Garg

Abstract

In this paper, the center is to present the fundamental ideas, feature the ongoing advancement, and talk about the difficulties or challenges regarding Li-ion batteries. Li-ion batteries serve as the powerhouse of modern electronic society, exclusively used in mobile phones and computers. The success of commercial Li-ion batteries during the 1990s was not a sudden achievement, but rather a consequence of serious research and commitment by numerous extraordinary researchers and engineers. At that point, much endeavors were put to additionally enhance the performance of Li-ion batteries because of which a certain significant progress was achieved. To satisfy the expanding needs for energy storage, especially from progressively well-known electric vehicles, escalated research is required to develop coming-generation Li-ion batteries with much improved performances, including increased volumetric energy and specific energy density, stability, cyclability, charging rate, and safety. There are yet prominent difficulties in the advancement of the development of coming-generation Li-ion batteries. New battery concepts have to be developed in near future to achieve a greater height in this field.
