L. Yamuna Rani, P. V.K. Chaitanya

Abstract

The term internet of things (IOT) generally refers to scenarios where network connectivity and computing capability extends to objects, sensors and allowing these devices to generate, exchange and consume data with minimal human intervention. IOT plays a vital role in connecting the surrounding environmental things to the network, making it easy to access those things from any remote location. With the rapid proliferation of vehicles availability and usage in recent years, finding a vacant parking space is becoming more and more difficult, resulting in a number of practical conflicts. The field of smart parking service systems is part of intelligent transportation systems. The various steps involved in this operation are vehicle identification, free slot detection and payment calculation. Vehicle identification is carried out using radio-frequency identification (RFID), free slot detection is carried out using IR sensors and all the data which has been inherited from the sensors will be routed by the application which will be notified using in app notifications. Payment calculation is done on the basis of period parking. The motivation of this project is to help drivers and to make the payment way easier and simpler.
