Modified Multiple Sub-blocking PTS Technique for Reduction in PAPR in OFDM System

Hemant Rathaur, Madhav Singh

Abstract

OFDM (Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) is a multi-carrier modulation technique which provides better bandwidth efficiency at high data rate but the problem is it increases the PAPR. This increase in PAPR leads to loss of signal and in order rectify it cost of amplifiers has to be increased. Therefore, peak-to-average power reduction (PAPR) reduction is an important issue which is required to be solved. PAPR can be reduced by using PTS (Partial Transmit Sequence) technique with OFDM. In our proposed work, PTS technique is further modified by changing the number of sub blocks while partitioning of OFDM symbol. From the results it has been seen that by increasing the sub blocks while portioning reduces the PAPR further which results in more better results.
