Water Quality Parameters and It’s Analysis Using IOT

Megha Gupta

Abstract

Water is the key to survival for all kind of living beings, in fact earth is the only planet on which life exists and the reason behind this is availability of water. If we consider statistically, approximately 70%
of water each day goes untreated, and this untreated water ends up merging with all the waterbodies including underground water supplies. Due to underground water pollution the effect comes on crops
as the only source of water for them is via underground water supplies. Apart from underground destruction water pollution gives rise to water bone diseases such as Tuberculosis, AIDS etc. This destruction also adversely effects on economic stagnation and GDP of the country. Water being the
most important factor for life is still not considered as important point to be focused on. In India due to consumption of polluted water every year thousands of people die. The destruction caused due to this
should be stopped as soon as possible otherwise its increasing rate may lead to hazardous effects. To control this effect, it is important to keep an eye upon the quality of water. In this paperwork the major
focus will be on the main parameters involved in evaluating water quality which would include chemical parameters (like TDS, pH and DO), physical parameters (like temperature and turbidity) and biological
parameters (like algae and phytoplankton). Apart from water quality parameter, comparison of different types of that can be used in the system are described technologies such as Wi-Fi module and Zigbee Protocol and a few benefits of using IOT in the system
