Abstract

ABSTRACT

The trend of the time has always been in favor of that technology which finally become cost effective as well as an elegant one. Traditional meter reading is performed by the human operator, this requires an extra variety of hard work operator and long working hour to achieve the complete area data reading and billing. Due to the increase in the development of. Residential building and commercial building the meter reading mission will increase which require greater diversity of human operators. For you to reap efficient meter reading, reduce billing error and operation cost, computerized meter reading system play a vital role. Electric powered power meters are the direct billing interface among software grid and consumers, and it passed through several improvements in the last decade. In postpaid device, there may be no control use of power from the client’s aspect. There is lots of wastage of electricity inside the consumer’s side because of lack of planning of electrical consumption in an efficient way. A Prepaid Energy Meter is used to collect the electricity bills from the consumers according to their consumption. The prepaid meter is not only limited to automate the meter reading (AMR) but also attributed with prepaid recharging ability and information of consumed data can be exchange between the grid and consumer. The detail of consumed data which is send by the prepaid energy meter can be stored in the grid computer for future verification. To monitor current status of fuse in the post and when the fault occurs, it gives information to the EB using GSM and this technology is user friendly and this reduce the work of the user.
