DESIGN OF TRUNCATED SQUARE MICROSTRIP ARRAY ANTENNA FOR ENERGY HARVESTING

Anamika Gupta, Laxmi Shrivastava, Santosh Sharma

Abstract

ABSTRACT

An 2X2 array of truncated square microstrip antenna is proposed in this paper. Antenna is designed for energy harvesting. This proposed antenna has a bandwidth for VSWR < 2 from 2.36 to 2.58GHz. A single antenna was designed initially at 2.4GHz, then array of the antenna was designed with the same frequency and results were compared.  Four truncated antennas were used in the designing of the proposed antenna, microstrip feed was used to excite the antenna. Used array technique is proposed to obtain higher gain as compared to the single antenna. Antenna was designed and simulated in CST microwave studio. FR4 substrate was used in the designing of the antenna which is having the height of 1.6mm and dielectric constant of 4.3. Proposed antenna is operating at 2.4GHz with return loss of -30dB and bandwidth of 163MHz.
