Modelling and Analysis of Pressure Distribution of a Honing Machine Tool
Abstract
In the honing machining process it is very important that tool should with stand the pressure to create the pattern inside the cylinder. This project deals with the reverse engineering process, and selecting the appropriate pressure for honing tool and simulations are done at different pressure readings and the result of Forces on the component so that the productivity of the machine is improved. To achieve this we take a standard honing tool component and do the modelling of that component in CREO 2.0 software, and draft copies are taken of the components to compare with the actual measurements of the tool and in ANSYS 16.2 software we calculate and simulate the total deformation of the tool at different pressures for different materials, based on the results we select the right material and recalibrate the right pressure which will be the deciding factor to decide on the stroke length and number of passes and also for the finish process which will increase the productivity of the machine.
