Electronic Voting Machine

Yash Gandhi, Abhi Vora

Abstract

This application note presents an Electronic Voting Machine. The goal of this project is to create an electronic voting machine that will help to eliminate fraud in manual and previous electronic voting systems. Instead of the ballot papers and boxes used in traditional voting systems, the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) is a basic electronic device that registers votes. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are electronic voting machines that help or take care of the responsibilities of casting and tallying votes. The control unit and the balloting unit are the two parts of an EVM. A cable connects these units together. The voting system consists of a set of rules that determine how people’s preferences are gathered and how the polling process results reflect the people’s will. It is a difficult undertaking to adopt such a system in the world’s greatest democracy. The Indian Electronic Voting Machine Protocol is implemented on a field programmable gate array in this study. ASIC-based designs are known to be faster than those based on microcontrollers. Furthermore, the Electronic Voting Machine will be more dependable and tamper- resistant because to the adoption of an ASIC-based architecture. The ASIC-based architecture might also be interfaced with the new voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) method.
