Broadbanding of Circular Patch Antenna Using Stub Loaded Stacked Configuration

Abstract

This paper proposes a stub loaded stacked configuration of a circular patch antenna using FR-4 material as a substrate with dielectric constant of 4.2 for resonant frequency of 2 GHz. This configuration is a hybrid of two broadbanding technique, the stub loading technique and stacking technique. The radius of the patch is calculated to be 18.88 mm and the air gap is 1 mm between the lower and upper layer. A percentage bandwidth of 2.85 is obtained.
