Abstract

This paper presents the mathematical modelling and its MATLAB simulation of selected photovoltaic module manufactured by BHEL (SL No.-E1200127, Type-L24170) in which parallel connected solar cell (Np=1) and Series connected solar cell(Ns=72) in order to estimate its behavior of SPV module and Finally compare the simulation results with the live field values measured with the help of Amprobe solar analyzer and Senser (S-4000). Using measured Irradiance(S) and module temperature (Avg. cell temp) which consists input to the mathematical model for getting the I–V characteristic curve. The model codes which are used in the MATLAB and in these codes, we insert the values of irradiance (S) and temperature (T) as input variables. The validation of the selected SPV module is being done with the help of calculating the percentage error in short circuit current (Isc) and open circuit voltage (Voc) at different time period and days. Keywords: irradiance, open circuit voltage, photocurrent, short circuit current, SPV module
