Abstract

In this study, we investigate the performance of a WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) system at 10 Gbps employing different dispersion compensation using dispersion compensation fiber (pre-compensation, post-compensation and symmetrical compensation technique) are analysed in term of Q-factor and received power. Analysis of WDM with NRZ (Non-return to Zero) Modulation format and Manchester Modulation format is done with pre-compensation, post-compensation and symmetrical compensation technique respectively. It is found that WDM using Manchester Modulation format provides better result. Keywords: WDM system analysis, Dispersion compensation, DCF (Dispersion Compensating Fiber), NRZ format, Manchester format
