Abstract

Multiple input bidirectional DC–DC converter is presented in this paper. This converter is used as an auxiliary supply for a DC motor drive. Motoring action as well as regenerative braking take place due to the bidirectional power flow capability of the converter. The converter is more advantageous because of multiple input capability. This will reduce the components and so the size of the overall system. Moreover the converter can interface sources with different voltage levels. The operation analysis and the simulation results of the converter are presented for different modes. Keywords: bidirectional power converter, regenerative braking, DC motor
