Abstract

There is a number of methods to account for saturation in synchronous machines, but generally this effect is not accounted for in induction machines. This practice gives rise to erroneous results. To obviate this difficulty, a number of methods used for synchronous machines have been extended for the induction machine and described in this study. The variation in the value of magnetizing reactance with increasing voltage has also been highlighted. Keywords: exponential method, Frolich’s equation, induction, method of least square, saturation, synchronous machines
