Hardware Implementation of 4X4 Keypad Using 7-Segment Display

Sanjeev Sharma, Divya Sharma

Abstract

In most of the display system of electronic devices, when we press a button on the keypad, it displays a specific character. In this paper, we present of the hardware implementation of a 4X4 keypad using 7-segment display to display numbers from 0-15 on pressing the appropriate buttons. Usually a 4X4 keypad is implemented using microcontrollers and Arduino boards. However, we have designed it by using encoders. This 4X4 keypad can be used in many places such as menu selection, data entry etc.

Keywords:7 segment display, Encoder, 4X4 keypad.
