A Meandered Spiral Antenna for Operation in the X-band

Adithya Vikram Sakthivel

Abstract

This study proposes a wideband meandered spiral antenna based on microstrip technology for optimal operation in the X-band (8 GHz to 12 GHz). This design is based on a two-arm Archimedean spiral antenna with a coaxial feed line. This antenna exhibits good performance for operations in the X-band. This antenna was simulated with FR-4 being used as the dielectric and copper for the metallization and ground plane. This antenna was tested and analyzed for the frequency range of 1 GHz to 20 GHz.
