A Computer Program for Small Signal HEMT or GaAsFET Model in Fiber Optic Receiver Circuit

Krishnapuram Kumar

Abstract

A fully automated program to determine the GaAsFET/HEMT small signal models for use in optical communication front end amplifier circuit is given. The program requires only initial values of parameters which are commonly available in literature determined by experimental procedures and two port analysis theory using analytical formulae. The program was tested by giving starting values within minimum and maximum ranges of parameters obtained by available manufacturer’s data and theoretical literature. The program can be run on either sophisticated high level language computers or on the laptops/tablets with freely available fortran compilers.
