Abstract

ABSTRACT

This paper proposes a compact and low-priced antenna that operates in Ultra Wide Band (UWB) at X-band and C-band for short-range communication applications. The frequency band ranging 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz is allocated to ultra-wideband. The values of VSWR and return loss for this antenna are less than 1.5 and -10db respectively. The L shaped slot create a band at 10.022 GHz and the ring-shaped patch create bands at 5.79 GHz and 8.14 GHz. The C shaped slots are cut on the ground to achieve multiband by notching the regions between resonating frequencies. This antenna is an Omni-directional. The suggested antenna is simulated using CST Microwave Studio.
