Multi-Arms DGS MIMO Antenna with a Neutral Line for 5G Applications

Abstract


In this study, a wideband 2×2 MIMO antenna has been presented. The projected design of the antenna is operating in 2.52-4.95GHz (IBW=65.06%) frequency range. This operating frequency is able to cover most of the wireless communication band. The overall footprint of the antenna is 0.33〖λ^2〗_0 (λ_0 = highest operating wavelength). An excellent ECC, gain, and other performance parametric have been observed in the operating frequency band. To diminish the coupling between the antennas radiating elements a concept of novel neutral line structure implemented. The isolation more than 10db has been obtained and the maximum gain of the proposed antenna is 4.56 dB the projected MIMO antenna is also an example of defected ground structure antenna (DFG).
