Design of an Effective Finite Impulse Response Filter Using Gaussian and Kaiser Window Function

Abstract


It has depicted another window work in this paper being defined, which can be utilized for FIR filter. The resulting window function is the outcome of Gaussian and Kaiser window. It has improved width of the main lobe and width of the side lobe rejection compare with traditional window like Kaiser, Gaussian, Blackman, and Hamming windows for same window length. In this paper, we have got the side lobe -99.8dB, -58.3dB, -57.2dB, -58.1dB, and -42.5dB of proposed, Kaiser, Gaussian, Blackman, and Hamming windows respectively. In the proposed window, the side lobe peak has been reduced compare than the Kaiser, Gaussian, Blackman, and Hamming windows is -41.5dB, -41.7dB, -42.6dB, and -41.5dB respectively. In this paper FIR low pass filter has been employed of the propose window and traditional window for window length M=100, passband frequency f_p=1400, stopband frequency f_p=2000, and sampling frequency f=10000 and compare its ripple ratio to the traditional FIR low pass filter like Hamming, Gaussian, Kaiser windows and Blackman.
