Handoff in Mobile Communication

Syed Saquib Reza

Abstract

ABSTRACT
In this paper cellular communication is a technology which mainly makes the mobile phones to communicate with each other. During the communication the user moves, and user changes their position but not their place. To maintain proper and smooth communication between user and system is the duty of the cellular systems. This accountability of cellular systems gives rise to the theory of Handoff. Continuity of service is achieved by supporting handoff (or handover) from one cell to another. A handoff mentions to the technique of shifting a call or records session from one cell in a cell network to some other or from one channel in a cellular to another. A properly carried out handoff is important for turning in uninterrupted carrier to a caller or information consultation user.
