Analysis and Design of the Bow Tie Antenna by Using Ground Slotting

Jyoti Gahlawat, Shankar Vijay

Abstract

A bow tie antenna is made from bi-triangular sheet of metal. It is used for all UWB applications like Wi-Fi, ground penetrating radar, wireless, and microwave imaging applications. The performance characteristic parameters (return loss, VSWR, and gain) of proposed design have been portrayed and analyzed to show the performance of antenna. The results confirmed that the proposed antennas may be useful for different mobile communication systems and wireless applications. The results showed sufficient isolation among the operating frequency bands with design antenna is 5 GHz. CST simulation tool is used to provide platform for simulating the proposed design improvement in gain and the overall maximum gain of 5.17 dB is obtained at 13.32 GHz.
