Abstract

Billing is an inevitable part of every sector, but in public transport systems like autorickshaws and taxis this part is missing which make them unpopular among  the patrons now a days. Country like India is spending a huge amount importing petroleum products causing a huge burden to the tax payers. The demand to petrol is increasing as more and more private vehicles are inducted into narrow roads, causing traffic snarls and pollution. Electric vehicle is a solution to the pollution issue, but is a costly option. A smart public conveyance is only solution to the ever increasing demand of transport needs of common man. To reguinate the public transport system mainly autorickshaws and taxis with emerging technology is the aim of our project. Implementation of this project in these transportation mediums will make it more user friendly and arguments regarding the fare can be minimized. The route finding in metropolitan cities is a difficult task for the drivers and also the passenger may get cheated by imposing a huge amount by deviating from the shortest paths by the driver. These are some of the problems related to the routes in these types of transportation methods. Effective public transport which is smart can lure commuters is a solution of the hour. This project aims in making the cheapest viable public transports free from all its present drawbacks. The system proposed will enable both the passenger and the driver benefits in various aspects. Present issues like improper billing, route confusions, rate settings are resolved with minimum cost. The implementation of the project in public domain will enhance autorikshaw patronage among common man. This will be a social revolution as daily commuters switch from personal vehicles to public transports. The system is very economical and can be integrated to the automatedsystem.
