DESIGN OF HIGH PERFORMANCE WIDE BAND COMPACT BRANCH LINE COUPLER USING PCB TECHNOLOGY

ABHISHEK LAKSHKAR

Abstract

This paper comprises designing of a wide band Branch Line Coupler by using PCB technology. The size is greatly reduced by using only patch on substrate without ground. The proposed designed coupler is working for 0-3 GHz frequency. The main concern of this paper to design and fabricate a compact branch line coupler with high performance and measured values well matched with simulation. The simulation can be achieved by using CST MWS software which is very excellent in performance. Various important parameters such as return loss, coupling, isolation and insertion loss of proposed Branch Line Coupler are discussed over here. The Fabrication can be achieved using PCB technology and values measured by spectrum analyzer. The dimensions of proposed directional coupler are 31mm×24mm×0.9mm (length ×breadth ×height).
