Compact Slot Multiband Antenna With Modified Ground Plane For Wireless Applications

Abstract


A miniaturized microstrip-fed multiband antenna is presented. Slots inside the rectangular patch with a modified ground plane are utilized to generate multiple frequency bands. The proposed antenna has a substrate size of 30*30 mm2, fed by a 50 Ω microstrip feed line and covers four frequency bands with resonant frequencies 2.5 GHz, 3.3 GHz, 5.3 GHz and 5.8 GHz respectively. Various parametric studies allowed and the results in terms of return loss and radiation pattern are given when antennas with double, triple and quad-band are obtained. The simulation results meet the acceptable standards.
