Abstract

ABSTRACT
Digitizing the systems and processes to get in line with the era of Industry 4.0 has become a paramount situation demanding efforts in the direction. This epoch of changing technology has caused many industries to suffer backlog. The other industries with survival instinct bank upon different tools like IoT, digitization, digitalization, artificial intelligence, etc., to name few to pave their way on the roadmap of Industry 4.0. The automotive industry like other sectors is also in the mode of availing the opportunity of digitalizing their processes and products. The automotive transmission sub-sector of the industry has put into use vivid technologies like fuzzy tools, GA, etc. with data capturing and analyzing techniques of IoT for digitalizing the automotive transmission by showcasing various parameters of interest. A review of such papers has been presented in this study and it has been found that such techniques have either not been tested in product form or are limited with very high-end vehicles only. A design methodology of such portable digitalizing boxes for automotive transmissions using sensors programmed through open-source Arduino Board has been presented here.

Keywords: Automotive transmission, digitalization, IR sensors, load cells, vibration sensors
