Optimal Power Flow Control by Using UPFC

Aseem Chandel, Dhananjay Prasad, Rahul Gupta

Abstract

Major objective of the present paper is to control the power flow in the transmission line using FACTS controllers mainly UPFC. It is essential to know the power flow between two buses and the various parameters involved in the power flow equation. Power Electronic Control in Electrical Systems offers a solid theoretical foundation for the electronic control of active and reactive power.

Keywords: active and reactive power, flexible AC transmission system (FACTS), unified power flow controller (UPFC)
