PERFORMANCE COMPARISON OF FABRICATED AND SIMULATED WIDEBAND COMPACT BLC

Abstract


In this paper comparison of result of simulation and fabricated compact branch line coupler is proposed. The decay in performance of branch line coupler during fabrication process is discussed in detail. High performance branch line coupler is designed by using CST MWS software which is very excellent as comparison to other RF design software in present scenario. The fabrication process is adopted by using PCB technology due to ease of use in laboratory. The FR4 LOSSY substrate is very common for design and fabricate due to availability. Single layer technique is adopted for wide band of BLC which is very effective technique. It works in wide band frequency range i.e. 0–3 GHz. The size of the compact branch line coupler is 31mm×24mm×0.9mm (length ×breadth ×height). The decay of performance was analyzed i.e. return loss, insertion loss, isolation, coupling and directivity resulting parameters during simulation and fabrication comparison discussed over here.
