Monopole Antenna Designing for Wideband Applications

Abstract

ABSTRACT
A microstrip-fed, circular shaped monopole antenna is proposed for wideband applications. As FCC introduced the range of S-band operations from 2 to 4 GHz, antenna was designed to work under this defined range of frequency. Antenna is collected of a partial ground and a Circular-shaped radiating patch that is adapted circle monopole. Antenna can create impedance bandwidths to cover the frequency bands of the S-band (1.9–3.1 GHz). Also, the antenna is circularly polarized in specified band. Besides, antenna configuration is very easy, durable and engages small space, creating it appropriate to practical applications.

Keywords: monopole antenna, partial ground, DGS, wideband, broadband antenna.
