Design and Analysis of Multiband RMPA at Lowest Frequencies With Miniaturization in Its Dimensions

aishwarya pandey, Pramod Kumar Singhal

Abstract

In this paper, two different designs of compact microstrip patch antennas are proposed. The central goal of these proposed designs is to miniaturization of the overall size of the antennas and making them resonant at lowest possible frequencies simultaneously. The first design is the dual band compact rectangular microstrip patch antenna resonant at 0.56 and 2.4 GHz. In this design, the compactness is achieved by using DGS and defected patch techniques. The DGS fractal antenna is the second proposed design having multiband characteristics resonant at 0.33, 1.6, 1.98 and 2.4 GHz. The Sierpinski Fractal structures are used with Koch DGS to reduce the overall size of the proposed antenna. The parameters of both proposed antennas are simulated using CST software, printed on FR-4 lossy and fed by a 50 Ohm SMA connector. The simulated results are analyzed on CST microwave studio and measured results are analyzed on Spectrum Analyzer.
