Abstract

In this paper, a design method of Indirect Field Oriented Control (IFOC) of three phase induction machine, based on Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) is proposed. First the mathematics model of the IFOC drive is defined then to increase the performance of the drive system, a fuzzy logic controller constructed by a fuzzy basic functions and applied to the speed control loop of the induction motor drive system to cope with the effect of the system dynamic uncertainty and the external load. The validity of the approach is verified through simulation based on the MATLAB/Simulink software using fuzzy logic toolbox. Finally, experimental verification is carried out using field-programmable gate array (FPGA) to validate. Simulation and experimental results of the proposed drive system are compared with those of conventional PI controller. The comparison results illustrate good transient response and reduction in the torque ripples of proposed controller.
