Abstract

ABSTRACT

Increasing mobility fuel price and pollution due to general vehicle in the metro cities and urban areas is increasing day by day. To overcome this problem, alternative methods are being developed. One of the methods is solar bike, it is driven by BLDC motor and is operated by solar energy. The solar panels are placed on the bike will charge the battery. The battery gets charged by the solar power. The optimal battery charging technique is used to reduce the battery overcharging and deep discharging for solar powered vehicle is discussed. As battery is the heart of the solar vehicle, deep discharging and overcharging of the battery may affect their performance and lifetime. In addition to that when solar panel is insufficient, the converter will be overloaded, and heat will be emitted. This condition is also overcome by this methodology. When the solar panel is insufficient an alert message is displayed in the liquid crystal display to plug in through the ac port. For controlling the battery charging Arduino controller is used to check the state of the battery. Thus, the integrated system consists of relay, Arduino microcontroller to reduce the overcharging and deep discharging and the battery state is displayed in the liquid circuit display.
